Funny Face (1957)
For inexhaustible choreographer and director Stanley Donen 1957 was quite a demanding year. Three movies were released under his belt- Funny Face, The Pajama Game and Fred Astaire.
Starring the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn, the movie Funny Face, is one film which will never fail to spread its charm. It is a wonderful movie on the fashion world. Astaire playing Dick Avery in the movie is a photographer. And his boss, Maggie Prescott, dispatches him to hunt for a beautiful ‘new face’. It is then that he comes across Audrey Hepburn who is not that keen about fashion. She is then transformed into a supermodel and her plain face is completely changed.
Making Fashion (1938)
The film has been splendidly shot in Dufay color. The movie has a charismatically dashing score together with a superbly conceited male voiceover.
The movie is about a bunch of society ladies who are modeling for the 1938 Spring Collection for designer Norman Hartnell. As per BFI National Archive’ head curator Hartnell and Jennings were quite stylistically influenced by Madame Yevonde who was a British society photographer.
Cover Girl (1944)

Her road to glory and fame for Rusty surfaces when John Coudair (Otto Kruger), an aged, affluent magazine editor offers her a chance to be a part of a high profile magazine cover girl.
Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni the movie is quite a fashionably cryptic thriller which stars David Hemmings. David plays the role of Thomas, a hip photographer.
His enormous charming style and seduction clout draws in a whole bunch of stunning women which includes Vanessa Redgrave and Jane Birkin. They are completely mesmerized and helpless and are drawn to his compelling personality.
