A Lot Happened At The Paris Fashion Week
The Paris Fashion Week is quite a happening place these days with a lot happening on stage as well as off stage. It began with Stella McCartney showcasing “strong feminine attitude” with her clothes and ended with Saint Laurent followed by Chanel’s boulevard. The Paris Fashion Week has been luring stars like Salma Hayek, Catherine Deneuve, Lenny Kravitz, and Neneh Cherry, all seated in the front row. The week also saw a lot of happening off the catwalk as Sean Penn’s daughter, Dylan was seen in the fashion movie.
Karl Lagerfield successfully transformed the Grand Palais into a Parisian neighborhood on Tuesday by creating the most expensive and unconventional ready to wear clothes. Baz Luhrmann as one of the guests was quite dazzled by the set and called it “great opera”. Chanel’s boulevard had pedestrian crossing, 3D verandas with real puddles surrounded by apartments. The spring –summer collection was very colorful and the theme of the show was based on the 80’s look. Double breasted tweed jackets, dandy coats, column dresses, mini dresses with tulle and colorful shoulderless dresses were seen.
Stella McCartney’s show was all about feminine attitude. Her spring-summer 2015 collection showcased wearable clothes like denim, organza, and silk. Pastel shades like white, crème, and vanilla was used to create the fluid silhouettes along with oversize accessories. Meanwhile Elie Saab showcased very vibrant and colorful clothes which were fun. Colors like bright red, blue, orange and yellow was used for aquatic prints for silk gowns and column dresses as the theme was tropical underwater.
Saint Laurent’s spring collection too had a lot of colors. Designer Hedi Slimane chose the 60’s and 70’s look and styled her models in Sgt. Pepper-style jackets, hats, heels and turbans. The fierce look and glamour was combined together.
