Abercrombie & Fitch hired new fashion designers
Abercrombie & Fitch is undergoing an overhaul with a lot of changes and happenings taking place. The retailer who has been struggling with its sales decided to hire some new designers for its design team in June. The design team was rebuilt but the head designer for the women section was still not taken which is quite an important position. However the search for the position has finally ended.
Abercrombie & Fitch recently announced that Kristina Szasz will head the A&F Women as the head designer from September. She also headed the design team for denim in well known brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Karl Lagerfeld.
Kristina Szasz has been associated with other well-known brands like Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, VF Apparel, Levi’s, Iceberg jeans and PVH. In the last year interview of 2014, she mentioned being an assistant to Emilio Pucci before he died in the year 1992. This was her first job. The talented designer has completed her studies in fashion designing from Italy and since then has been working with some big names in fashion like Karl Lagerfeld for PVH.
Kristina Szasz is not the only big hire at Abercrombie & Fitch. The retailer has also roped in Monica Margeum from well-known competitor Kohl and Amy Sveda from Carter, a retail company for children. Both the women are hired for its Abercrombie kids and A&F as planning operations head and general manager respectively. Stacie Beaver who has given her 15 years to different positions in the company will take on the role as the new general manager for the same company. All this re-staffing is an effort to improve the sales and attract customers towards the improved product line. A total of eight senior positions had been filled with very selective hires for the struggling brand.
