Alber Elbaz will leave Lanvin after 14 years
The very next inventive designer who is about to take a move is none other than Alber Elbaz. One of the most beloved names of Fashion (and inexhaustible) games of Designer Musical Chairs will have a dreadful turn to absorb: It was declared on Wednesday that Alber Elbaz, the Isreali designer who has been a part and served Lanvin for more than 14 years, as the artistic director, will soon be leaving his position at the French fashion house. It was WWD who was the first to break this shocking news.
This news came just about a week after Raf Simons left Dior after being part of it for three years. And when asked he citied that he had ‘personal reasons’ for which he was finally parting ways with Dior.
Well it was actually easy to conclude that Elbaz would most probably be the one to fill in the spot which was left vacant by Simons– particularly considering that he was leaving Lanvin due to the ongoing disagreements with the CEO and private owner of the label, as and what was considered by WWD.
Yet at the FGI’s Night of Stars, in his fervent speech which was made the previous week, Elbaz spoke for about sixteen minutes on the present condition of the industry, naming burnout and also the lack of time to cultivate fresh ideas being one of the most basic issues which was faced by the fashion designers of the present day.
