Alexander Wang is all set to quit Balenciaga
It seems like the eminent designer’s spring 2016 collection will be the last with the French house. This collection will make things end with the French house so far as the recent buzz erupts.
It is being assumed so far that fashion designer Alexander Wang’s time with French house-Balenciaga will be coming to an end soon. On Wednesday, it was reported by WWD after several week of speculation that the designers contract with the label owned by Kering is not going to get renewed and that the hunt for his successor has already started sometime back.
The spring 2016 show of the American designer, as per the trade, will be showcased in the upcoming Paris Fashion Week. And it is going to be his final one and he will no more have any link with the French house. Following the constructive buzz soon after Alessandro Michele was appointed as the company’s creative director in January, it is quite probable that Balenciaga will also follow suit and the hunt has begun. It seems like the company is all set to walk down the same policy such as Gucci.
When asked by one of Kering’s spokesperson all that came out was that things were being discussed so far. It was in December 2012 that the spot for the creative lead was handed over to Wang. Nicolas Ghesquière was replaced by the American designer and then he decamped to famous brand Louis Vuitton. During his tenure, Wang worked and redesigned the retail store for Balenciaga with the promising ‘Le Dix’ which was the refreshing hit handbag.
