Diane Von Furstenberg and Journey of Her Wrap Dress in Last 40 Years!
Diane von Furstenberg is no doubt an iconic fashion trend setter! She has a very impressive resume after re-launch of her fashion company Diane von Furstenberg (DvF) in the year 1997. Although in 1974, she has introduced her iconic Wrap dress, but she has courage to re-introduce it in the year 1997, with her new company! The company has now become a luxury brand all over the world. The brand is well known as it offers around four full collections in a span of one year! DvF has made its presence felt in 70 countries and 45 free-standing shops all over the world. In 2005, she has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Awardby CFDA and in 2006, she has become the president, of the same. Till today she is making her presence in 68th most powerful woman in the world as per Forbes!
The former princess is now star of House of DVF. It is a new E! Series. The series focuses on group of ladies which are competing with each other to become brand ambassador of DvF company! From 1974 when she revolutionized the fashion world with her wrap dress, Diana sold a million dresses and made on the on the cover of Newsweek. She was referred as the biggest name in fashion.
Very recently, there was an exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) which described the journey of Diane’s wrap dress along with how it redefined in last 40 years!Dian in an interview said, “The Journey of the Dress exhibition is all about celebrating the wrap dress. It’s the 40th anniversary, so I really wanted to honor the dress that has had such an impact on my life and the lives of many women around the world. I wanted to evoke the spirit of the wrap dress and to show how it has taken on a life of its own through all of the women who have worn it.”
