Jeremy Scott Goes Barbie Way at Milan

Jeremy Scott is the creative director of Moschino. What is his usual style? He is best known for bold displays of jazzy pop culture on the ramp. So, it was surprise to see the runway show based on doll-Barbie by the same creator. He is the one who displayed his unique collection at New York Fashion Week, and in that shoe we saw Shrek-character themed sweaters. The show became even more famous as Miley Cyrus made an appearance!

For spring 2015 at Milan, Scott made their models look like Barbie dolls. The dolls were looking like somehow managed to escape from their plastic life and coming to life. The show started with models that were doll dressed just like plastic ones, following one after the other!

So, how we can imagine Barbie theme to be displayed on the runway? May be bubblegum pink colored lipstick, platinum blond hair, sleeves with puffs, short skirts, and taffeta? Yes it was all in the show. But what grabbed most attention hard plastic bra with bow combined with an open shirt. What’s at the bottom? A short skirt! It may look uncomfortable but had a delicate and plastic Barbie look! We even saw a Barbie-doll walking down the runway with roller skating. She wore “Moschino” head as well as wristbands made up of terry cloth!

We even saw business lady- Barbie, wearing a pink suit, a work out doll wearing a pink tracksuit and cowgirl Barbie too wearing jazzy rodeo attire. The models wore accessories which were of the 90s style. The most dominating were bubble backpacks and gold necklaces along with belts decorating model’s limbs.

Scott explained: “like every girl and gay boy, I loved Barbie.’ It’ss hard not to; she’s practically perfect. She’s a good big sister, she’s had every job in the world, worn every outfit. And it’s just joyful. Her and I share the same things: We just want to bring joy to people.”
