Run up to the London Fashion Week: 5 Designers to look out for
The London Fashion Week, one of the four most-awaited fashion events of the year is scheduled to take off on Sep 12 2014. The show promises to be exciting as always and presents a platform for the labels from all over the world to showcase their unique styles and talents, generating business and setting trends in the process.
We bring to you 5 designers who are slated to exhibit their creativity and style at the London Fashion Show.
Started in 2006 this label claims to combine London wit with global appeal. They offer a “hint of kink” with subverted classics and simplicity and confidentiality. Present Design Head is Daniel Mcilwraith.
Born in Canada, Erdem Moralioglu has established himself globally and won awards at various Fashion shows including the British Fashion awards in 2010, 2012 and 2013. According to him, his signature styles include colors and oddities mixed with optimism.
3. Fyodor Golan
Fyodor Podgorny from Latvia and Golan Frydman from Israel met in London, collaborated, and launched their brand in 2010. They have an international presence in Russia, South East Asia, Japan and the Middle East. Geometric pleats, 3D texture and purity of shape, are their signatures.
Giles Deacon graduated from Central Saint Martin’s in 1992. He received extensive training under Jean Castelbajac, Botega Veneta and Gucci. His career took off at the London Fashion Week in February 2004 where his collection was covered by a host of international magazines, and was bought off by Harvey Nichols, Liberty and Selfridges. Winner of several prestigious awards at the British Fashion Awards and Elle, his signature, according to him, is “Statement, playful, confidence-giving clothes.”
5. House of Holland
A stylist before he became a fashion designer, Henry Holland, studied at the London College of Printing. He has an international presence with his brand. His style embraces the bold, colorful and irreverent.
