Saint Laurent brings grunge tiara for spring 2016 collection
Saint Laurent presented its grunge inspired collection through live tweets in Paris on Monday evening. The runway show for the spring collection 2016, Saint Laurent decided to let go of the live streaming of their collection and opted for posting information online. All the information regarding the accessories and the overall look were all posted real time through live tweets. Hedi Slimane presented the collection which looked similar to a college prom night wear models looked like prom queens right out of a punk rock. It was like as if he went on a holiday to Glastonbury for the summers. The collection took an inspiration from the typical grunge look and had everything cool.
Denim overalls, short denim skirts, sequined tops and slips, leather jackets, fur coats and everything rocking were part of the collection. Majority of the footwear were from the willies for the show and were paired with some rocking and cool clothes. What really looked interesting and caught everyone’s attention was the grunge tiara as named by Saint Laurent. According to the fashionable brand, the headgear is perfect for everything. It can be worn with almost all the dresses of the collection. But it looked best with the finale dress which was a silk evening dress.
The sparkling headgear were worn by models like Agyness Deyn who usually is not seen much on runway along with models like Staz Lindes and Ruth Bell who looked mean and mugged while walking the ramp. However with the glittering tiara, they did not look that tough.
For the 2013 campaign of Saint Laurent, Coutney Love was seen wearing a similar version of the tiara. Slimane has not used this idea for the first time as he has also used witchy hats for the 2013 spring collection of the brand.
