MM6 shifts its Spring 2016 venue
With most designers and designer brands changing the game plan this year, there are a lot of happenings one needs to keep track of this season. Most of the designer brands and retailers have been turning things around for the improvement of their business. Spring 2016 season will start from September 10 in New York and a lot will happen this month as September is the January for fashion world.
The show calendar has a lot of modifications which a fashion follower will have to follow accordingly. With big designers like Anthony Vaccarello and Ricardo Tisci already announcing their change of venues for their shows this Fashion month, MM6 by Maison Margiela has joined the bandwagon by announcing its collection showcase at London.
Givenchy has decided not to showcase at Paris and has announced New York as the venue while Versace will showcase in London like MM6. The official calendar for the London Fashion Week has many big names this September who are appearing for the first time on the list. John Galliano, the Creative Director for Maison Margiela usually showcases in New York, however has decided to book London for their first runway collection on Sunday September 20. He was the one who chose the English city for the first couture by Margiela before.
The decision has been taken by John Galliano who oversees the creative part of the designer brand. However no official spokesperson or reps from the label has come forward or given any statement for the primary reason behind this move in venue. We tried to reach them officially but no comments or statements could be taken with regards the shift. We assume that it is for the sake of keeping the collection closer to the creative director Galliano. The label however will showcase its collection in Paris later after a few weeks.
