Pirelli Calendar’s First Plus-Size Model

The Pirelli Calendar is well known for the extremely fashionable models featured, and this year for the first time the calendar features plus size models.

With its glamorous and high profile models, the Pirelli Calendar has always been a collector’s item, with only a limited number of copies of the calendar available to a select few. The calendar has extremely attractive scantily clad models posing provocatively, making people glancing at the calendar forget the month and date, focusing only on the eye catching photographs of the models. The calendar which is available only to a select few has usually only featured traditionally reed thin models in the fifty plus years of its existence.

However, this year, in a departure from past history, the calendar will feature a plus size model Candice Huffine for the first time. The calender which will be shot by photographer Steven Meisel and styled by the stylist Carine Roitfeld, this year’s calendar will be designed around the theme of fetishism. The models will be wearing different garments made from leather and latex, with bustiers and similar accessories to make the models look like dominatrix. Some of the other models for the calendar are Adriana Lima, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, Sasha Luss, Anna Ewers, and Carolyn Murphy

One of the most high profile models in this calendar is Real Housewives actress Gigi Hadid. Recollecting her photo shoot for this calendar, the actress said that she had worn an all latex outfit. This was the first time she was wearing latex and she thought it would be uncomfortable and difficult to breathe. However, now she likes latex so much, that she wants to wear latex leggings. While this was the second time Joan Smalls was featuring in the calendar, she informed wwd that she liked the character she was going to play which had a boxing theme.
